Sanma Akashiya is a familiar face on Japanese television, and this is a motto he holds dear.<\/p>\n
In an interview published in 2024, he explained that the name he gave IMM THEATER abbreviates this Japanese phrase. He also spoke about wanting a place where he could fully express the kind of comedy he loved in his own way.<\/p>\n
\u2018Pure profit\u2019 is an unexpectedly playful way to talk about life. Rather than a grand declaration that makes you sit up straighter, it has a ring that might let you smile and loosen your shoulders.<\/p>\n
What follows is our own reflection on bringing that phrase into everyday life.<\/p>\n
A day is more than a list of accomplishments<\/h2>\n
It is easy to turn a day into an inventory of results.<\/p>\n
How many tasks did you finish? How useful were you? Did you get further than yesterday?<\/p>\n
Getting things done can certainly feel good. But not completing your plans is not the same as the entire day being wasted.<\/p>\n
You ate something warm. You watched a favorite show and laughed a little. You felt sleepy, so you lay down.<\/p>\n
Those things might not fit neatly into an achievement report, but they were still part of your day.<\/p>\n

Hard things are hard. When you are tired, you are tired. You do not have to force a laugh when you cannot find one.<\/p>\n
Rather than telling someone else, \u2018That should be enough to make you happy,\u2019 we might quietly reach for these words when we are grading ourselves too harshly.<\/p>\n
Keeping the phrase at that gentle distance may make it easier to welcome.<\/p>\n
Tonight, finish without giving yourself a failing grade<\/h2>\n
